HK Now Store

This month sees the end of the sponsorship of the Mazelog competition by Puzzle Master, and I'd like to thank them for their support over the last six months.

While I'm looking for an alternative sponsor I am going to provide a series of interesting variants of the Rubik's Cube as prizes. These will be sent from HK Now Store, an on-line store with a huge range of Rubik's Cubes and other twisty puzzles. Although they are based in Hong Kong, they provide free airmail shipping to anywhere in the world - a test order I placed recently arrived in 7 days to the UK.

The prize for May's competition will be the Gear Cube, a cube with an original mechanism of gears that cause the pieces to move in unpredictable ways. It was invented by Oskar van Deventer from an idea by Bram Cohen. It's great fun to play with, and easier to solve than the Rubik's Cube:
